SITUATION. Healthcare workers are not just punching a time clock, we are passionate about people and helping the community.  We are in a situation where it is hard to do our job, our passion. Healthcare was already a high stress environment. This situation has only increased through the pandemic and now in the post-pandemic period.

BACKGROUND. Workers at UCHealth are the foundation of the system of care yet we lack a voice in process, pay, and policy development.  Workers deserve for our voices to be heard in situations and environments that directly affect us and the patients of UCHealth.  We cannot individually create real change in such a broken system.

ASSESSMENT. While we do our best to address concerns and problem solve at work, we find that voicing our concerns individually to higher administration results in sidelining those who speak up or worse.  We lose so many dedicated and experienced colleagues who leave the UCHealth system because they are tired of not being heard. The reality of healthcare is that it is a broken system with amazing, passionate people that work amongst the rubble. It is time for the workers to be in charge of the rebuild.

RECOMMENDATION.  JOIN OUR UNION. Workers at UCHealth love the job we do and serving the community.  We, the workers, need a voice to create positive change to improve our healthcare system within UCHealth and beyond. We are passionate about uniting all the voices of UCH employees into one collective through UCHealth Workers United (UCHWU). Together, unified, in numbers, our power and voice grows daily to create workplace and workforce stability for a healthier working environment for us and improved care for our patients.

Unity, solidarity, and collective movement will heighten our voice, energy, and power.

We are rising.

Come join us.

Together we will make UC Health the best place to work and receive care.
